Mrs. Sarah Marie Robbins, 77, of Lenoir, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Lovingly known as "Marie," she was an avid gardener and outdoors individual who loved her family, neighbors, and friends. She was born April 1, 1939 in Moore County to the late Norman Martin Maness and Ethel Garner Maness. She was, also, preceded in death by her husband, Vilas R. Robbins; stepson, Donald T. Robbins; sister, Verlene Freemon; and brother, Thomas Garner. Surviving are a step daughter-in-law, Lyvonda Robbins; a step granddaughter, Kimberly Davis; a step grandson, Grant Benfield; three step great-grandsons; two sisters, Mae Maness and Adean Maness, both of Robbins, NC, as well as several nieces and nephews of Moore County, NC. A graveside service celebrating Marie’s life will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Marietta T. Smith officiating.
