Sharon Horne

Granite Falls, NC- Mrs. Sharon Lee Staines Horne, age 63, of Granite Falls passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Frye Regional Hospital. Born June 18, 1953 in Baltimore, MD, Sharon was a daughter of the late Harry and Florence Staines. She was Baptist by faith and enjoyed baking cakes and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Swanson; and a brother, Randy Staines. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Howard Horne of the Home; two daughters, Marie Horne, and Nancy Bailey (husband Thomas) both of Granite Falls; four brothers, Harry Staines (wife Sharon), Wayne Staines, Robert Staines and Ronnie Staines; a sister, Gloria Cross; a grandson, Lane Bailey; she is also survived by numerous other relatives. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Wesley Sludder officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Laurel Haven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Horne, Jimmy Nelson, Charles Barrett, TJ Bates, Brandon Banks and Jon Grey. Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Bailey and Jimmy Horne. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
