Sylvia Diane Correll Bridges

Sylvia Diane Correll Bridges, age 70, of Lenoir, passed away at home on Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was born July 5, 1955 in Caldwell County to the late Bill Mack Correll and Sylvia Jean Walker Bryant.

Mrs. Bridges was a member of New Life Baptist Church and loved her Lord. She was a valued Caldwell County Schools employee for 30 years, spending most of that time at Davenport and Baton Elementary Schools. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, especially her grandchildren whom she enjoyed spoiling. She held a deep passion for reading, often rereading her favorites. Christmas was her most cherished time of year. On her last day, the family watched White Christmas with her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jack Edward Bridges Jr., and her beloved children, Shea Bridges (Shawna), Rita Jean Whisnant (Jason Hollar), Elliott Bridges (Victoria), and 6 grandchildren: Katie Whisnant, Ben Whisnant, Cameron Bridges, Justin Bridges, Liam Bridges and Griffin Bridges, all of Lenoir. A

brother, Ty Bryant (Kristen) of Georgia, and numerous nephews and nieces: Lily (Bryant) McIntosh (Weston), Levi Bryant (Emma), Rosie Bryant, Lyric Bryant, Isaiah Bryant, Maggie Bryant, and Millie Jo Bryant. Along with various other family and friends, including her lifelong friend Kim Whaley of Kings Creek.

Funeral services will be held on June 16th at 2:00PM at Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Reverend Ty Bryant will conduct the service.
