Granite Falls– Mrs. Sylvia Jean Coffey Watson, age 64, of Granite Falls, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson, surrounded by her family. Born August 13, 1951 in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Earl Coffey and Hazel Juanita Triplett Coffey Aldridge. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Rom Earl Aldridge and her sister, Linda Elaine Watson. Mrs. Watson was a member of North Lenoir Church of God where she was a children’s Sunday School teacher and president of the Senior Citizens Group. If you ever saw her, she wanted to make certain you were ready to meet the Lord. She had worked for many years with Broyhill Furniture Company. She is survived by her husband, Chester Watson to whom they shared 47 years of marriage; two daughters, Juanita Hartley and husband Tony of Lenoir; Brittney Himes and husband Michael of Lenoir; one sister Wattula “Tula” Wilson and husband Scott of Lenoir and two grandsons, Hunter Dale Hartley and Adam Michael Himes, both of Lenoir. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A celebration of Mrs. Watson’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Pastor Darrell Wright and Bishop Michael Vanderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
