Tammy Marie Daye

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tammy Marie Daye, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Tammy departed this world on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 64, surrounded by loved ones at Caldwell UNC Healthcare in Lenoir, NC.

Tammy was born on January 26, 1962, in Caldwell County, NC, to Judy Waters Watson and the late Chester Watson. Her upbringing was steeped in the love of her family, including her late grandparents, Marvin Slim Waters and Pollie Waters, who preceded her in death. Tammy married the love of her life, Ken Daye, with whom she shared 29 wonderful years full of adventure and togetherness. Whether it was through camping trips or afternoons spent fishing, Tammy truly found joy in everything she did alongside Ken. Her life was also filled with love for her children, Keesha Franklin, Ashley Daye, Kendra Daye South and husband, Jesse South, and Kendall Daye, as well as for her brother, Tim Watson and his wife, Becky. Her grandchildren, Breanna Franklin, Peyton Laws, and Leeland South, were the light of Tammy's life. As an accomplished homemaker, Tammy created a warm and welcoming home, offering comfort and wisdom to all who entered. She found simple pleasures in the colorful world around her, often expressing her creativity through her love for coloring. Tammy leaves behind not just her human family, but also her cherished dogs, Molly and Bandit, who held a special place in her heart.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tammy's life at a graveside service to be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Her spirit, characterized by kindness, warmth, and unyielding devotion to her family, will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Tammy Marie Daye will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by everyone she touched during her life.
