Terry Ray Whittington

West Jefferson, NC – Terry Ray Whittington, a beloved resident of West Jefferson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 65, surrounded by his loving family at Ashe Memorial Hospital.

Born on February 8, 1960, in Caldwell County, NC, Terry was the cherished son of the late Darrell Whittington and Betty Jo Pritchard Duncan. A true North Carolinian at heart, Terry's life was marked by his love for fishing, playing his guitar, and spending quality time with his dear friends and family. Known affectionately as a "Rolling Stone," he lived life with a spirited passion and a heart full of music, song writing and adventure.

Terry's legacy is carried on by his beloved daughter, Savannah Whittington, and his sons, Jacob Whittington, and his wife, Kimberly and Justin Franklin. He was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. his brothers, Darrin Whittington, Jeff Whittington, Greg Whittington, and Gary Winebarger; his sisters, Kimberlin Dula and Renee Short; his cherished niece, Kennedy Leonhardt; Kaylan Dula; dear nephews Devin Whittington and Ben Dula, as well as Jennifer Wiles and Kathey Abernathy. Terry's extended family and numerous friends will forever treasure his memory.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Whittington Hart, his infant son, Jordan Whittington and Faye Whittington and Bobby Duncan. He now rests peacefully, reunited with the Lord in Heaven.

Terry dedicated his professional life to roofing, contributing his skill and craftsmanship to many projects throughout his career. His hard work was known for its integrity and dedication, esteemed by colleagues and clients alike.

Arrangements are entrusted to Evans Funeral Service & Crematory. A memorial service to celebrate Terry's remarkable life will be held on a later date, giving his family and friends a chance to come together and remember the joy he brought to everyone he met.

Terry Ray Whittington will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, laughter, and music will continue to resonate in the lives of those he touched.
