Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Theo Virginia Gullion Brown, age 76, of Lenoir, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at her home. She was born May 2, 1934 in Smyth County, VA to the late James and Lula Mae Bates Gullion. She was a homemaker and member of the South Caldwell Ministries. She loved shopping and was an avid doll collector. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garris Neal Brown; a daughter, Phoebe Jane Brown; an adopted daughter, Carolyne Gibson; and one sister, Georgia Meyers. Survivors include her four sons and daughters in law, Rickie Neal Brown and wife Stephanie of Spring Lake, NC; Garris Wesley Brown and wife Cuilan Xia, Johnny Brown and wife Rebecca, and Larry Brown all from Lenoir; a daughter, Linda Marlene Brown and partner, Tina Sims; two brothers, John Gullion and Bruce Gullion of Marion, Virginia; a loving canine, Pepper; she is also survived by six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A celebration of Theo’s life will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir. Serving as pallbearers will be Rickie Brown II, Kenneth Chester, Gerald Robinson, Charles Altizer, Chris Childress and Neal Sanders. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
