Thomas Wallace Broach, 92, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.Tom was born to Charles Wesley Broach and Annie Kathleen Hudson Broach. He is survived by his wife of 69 yrs, Marjorie McGowan Broach, children Beverly B Lee (husband, Mel), Preston Broach (wife, Lynn) and Becky Dilling; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 101 yr old sister, Anne Couch, sister, Jeannette Moore and many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom graduated from Kings Creek High School. He served in the US Navy stationed in the South Pacific during World War II.He owned and operated the Esso service station uptown Lenoir for 17 years and later worked for the NC State Right of Way Dept where he retired August 1990.After retiring, he served on the Lenoir City Council for 8 years.He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir where he served as a Life Deacon. He left an indelible mark on his family and all that came to know him. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Lenoir on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Josh Hughes officiating. Military honors will be presented by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 prior to the service.
