Lenoir, NC- Mrs. Truma Lee Forrester Nichols, age 92, of Lenoir, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Shaire Center of Lenoir. Born December 30, 1916 in Cowarts, Alabama, Mrs. Nichols was a daughter of the late Clifford Franklin and Rhoda Carolyn Pelham Forrester and the wife of the late William Theodore Nichols. Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Franklin Nichols. She was retired as a head dietician with the Dougherty County Schools in Albany, Georgia. She was very active in children?s ministries in the Presbyterian Church. Truma was the author of two children?s books; ?White Shoes and Sore Toes? and ?Streak of Sunshine?. Truma is survived by two daughters, Reba Ann Nichols-Yoda and husband Koji of Pelham, GA; Theodora Lee Nichols-Bowen and husband Dewey of Lenoir; daughter-in-law, Sarah Ann Rhodes-Nichols of Cleveland, GA; 10 grandchildren, Franklin Scott Nichols, Sharon Romayne Nichols-Mainor, Mary Elizabeth Nichols-Wolfgang, Jonathan Daniel Nichols, Kyoko LeAnn Yoda-Blackburn, Koji Nichols Yoda, Suyo Ruth Yoda- Bunnelle, Stephen Forrester Yoda, Jennifer Lee Bowen-Hopson, Christa Kate Bowen-Olds and 14 great-grandchildren and the countless friends she has made over the years. Truma?s family will be receiving friends and family members during a viewing at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir, NC, Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested your gifts being sent to your local food pantry. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2009 in the Cowarts Baptist Church Cemetery in Cowarts, Alabama.
