Walter Hartley

Walter James Hartley, age 78, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on July 29, 1946, to the late Carl and Winnie Coffey Hartley. He was married to Darlene Wyvill Hartley, of the home, for 51 years.

He was a loving husband and Dad and will be remembered as a hard worker. He and Darlene cared for many children during their time together and often opened up their hearts and home to any one in need.

Other than his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his infant son, Shane Allen Hartley; and brothers, Ronard and Dennis Hartley.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Victor Hartley; daughter, Macey Hartley; two grandchildren; a brother; and many nieces and nephews that referred to him as Daddy Walt.

A graveside celebration of Walter’s life will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 1:00 PM officiated by Keith Edmisten.
