William Clyde Weaver

April 14, 1947 — August 21, 2025

William “Bill” Clyde Weaver, 78, of Hudson, NC, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Born on April 14, 1947, in North Carolina, Bill’s life was a testament to love, service, and devotion.

Bill was the beloved son of the late Clyde and Bertie Mae Weaver. He is now reunited in peace not only with his parents but also his daughter, Julie Miller, and loving siblings, Mary Sue, Gail, Dale, and Darrell.

Surviving Bill is his devoted wife of 57 years, Carolyn, who stood faithfully by his side. He leaves behind his loving daughter, Jennifer Huffman and her husband Shawn; grandchildren, Brittany Miller and Lauren Adams with her husband Sam; dear mother-in-law, Vergie Hudspeth; and caring sister-in-law, Phyllis Lee and her husband Sam. Bill’s legacy of love also continues through his nephews, Brian Weaver with wife Crystal, Bradley Weaver, his great-niece, Addison, and other family members.

A proud veteran, Bill dedicated his service to the US Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. His sense of duty extended beyond his military service through his leadership as the Chief of the Hudson Rescue Squad for many years. However, the cornerstone of Bill’s life was his unwavering faith, which he lived out at Friendship Baptist Church in Hudson, NC. As a deacon and a beloved Sunday School teacher, he touched countless lives with his wisdom, knowledge and kindness.

In addition to his community service, Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was passionate about the outdoors, finding joy in fishing and gardening, and he lovingly tended to his vineyard. Cooking his mother’s treasured recipes was another way he kept her memory alive.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill’s life on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Friendship Baptist Church, located at 4676 Horseshoe Bend Road, Hudson, NC 28638 with Reverend Robert Livingston officiating. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the church. Following the service, Bill will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Evans Funeral Service & Crematory, honoring the profound impact Bill Weaver had on those who knew and loved him. His legacy of service, love, and faith will remain in the hearts of many.
