Yvonne Pruette

Lenoir – Mrs. Yvonne Hartley Pruette, age 77, gained her perfect healing and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Carolina Rehab of Burke. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Revis Pruette and her parents, Charlie and Alma Hartley. Yvonne was an affectionate mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be remembered for being a loving protector of her family. She was a great cook and baker, who enjoyed baking cakes for family and friend’s celebrations. She and her inseparable sweetheart loved the mountains and spent many days picnicking and hiking. They made many fond memories traveling from coast to coast. Above all, she loved the Lord with all her heart and this love permeated the fabric of her life. Yvonne is survived by her children, Denee Shipman and husband, Morris; Cindy Gibbs and husband, Daniel; and Rebecca Miller; grandchildren, Derin Barrett; Charity O’Connell; Adam Barrett; Nathaniel Gibbs; Michaela Gibbs; Isaac Gibbs; Caleb Miller and Jenna Miller; 11 great-grandchildren and a great-grandson on the way; sisters, Norma Whitt, Gerrie McBride, Naomi Lewis, Arita Townsel, Bessie Waters and Edith Hartley; and her brother, David Hartley. A graveside service celebrating Yvonne’s life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park at 11:00 AM with Pastor Allen Gunter officiating.
