Michael Ralph Triplett “Mike”, 68, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Caldwell County on May 17, 1949 to the late Ralph Triplett and June Guinn Triplett. Mike was involved in athletics for most of his life, winning a state championship in the pole vault. Years later he excelled at racquetball; rode in the Bridge to Bridge and he loved to jog. He earned his degree in Forest Production from Haywood Tech and received his degree from the National Hardwood Lumber Association in Memphis, TN. He became an active member of the NHLA. Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Wendy Triplett Bolick and husband, Mark; daughter, Jennifer Parsons Smith and husband, James; son, Jon Parsons and wife, Judy; son, Joe Parsons and wife, Sandy; sisters, Linda Triplett and husband, Paul Hawkins; Pat Triplett; Shawn Pennell; brother, Timm Triplett and wife, Johnna; grandchildren, Bailey Bolick; Bethany Smith; Abby Smith; Zachary Elledge; Joseph Parsons; Jessica Story; Christina Parsons Hall; and numerous other relatives. David Dixon was his good friend. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Blue Ridge Memorial Park at 4:30 PM with military honors presented by the Caldwell County Veteran’s Honor Guard and the U.S. Air Force. A memorial service will follow in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Sunday at 5:30 PM with Pastor Steve Walsh officiating.
