Reggy Greene

Manager/Licensed Funeral Director

A life-long resident of Caldwell County, Reggy has two daughters, Sally Greene Jackson and Rachel Greene, a granddaughter, Stella James Jackson, and a grandson, Vance Webb Jackson. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC-Charlotte, an MBA degree from Gardner-Webb University and his North Carolina Funeral Director's License. He has also completed a comprehensive veterans training course and earned the designation as a Certified Veterans Funeral Professional.

Tyra Setzer

Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

Tyra is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Tyra lives in Granite Falls with her husband, Joey and son, Darren. Tyra obtained an AAS in Information Systems from CCC&TI, BSBA from Gardner-Webb University, MBA from Gardner-Webb University, and AAS in Funeral Service Education from Fayetteville Community College and Technical Institute. She has also completed a comprehensive veterans training course and earned the designation as a Certified Veterans Funeral Professional.

Anna Workman

Office Administrator/Funeral Director Apprentice

Anna Workman serves as the Office Administrator at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory, where she helps ensure daily operations run smoothly while supporting families with care and compassion. She holds a degree in Business Management from Liberty University and is currently serving her apprenticeship as a funeral director, giving her both administrative expertise and firsthand experience in funeral service. Anna lives in Lenoir with her husband, Benjamin, and their two children, Sailor and Declan.

Chris D. Evans

Preneed Specialist

Chris has devoted much of his life to funeral service, community involvement, and serving families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

A licensed funeral service professional in North Carolina, Chris is a graduate of the Funeral Service Education program at Fayetteville Technical Community College. His calling to funeral service ultimately led him and his wife, Lisa, to establish Evans Funeral Service & Crematory in Lenoir more than 20 years ago.

Lenoir is Lisa’s hometown, making their decision to establish the funeral home here especially meaningful. Together, Chris and Lisa built Evans Funeral Service on a simple philosophy: families deserve to be treated with compassion, dignity, honesty, and the same personal attention they would want for their own family.

Family has always been at the heart of Chris and Lisa’s lives. Their daughter, Liz Evans, lives in Lenoir and is a member of the management team at Valdese Weavers, the largest domestic producer of decorative jacquard textiles in the United States. Their son, Jon Thompson, lives in Nashville, Tennessee, and works in the music industry as bass technician for the internationally known rock band Evanescence. Chris and Lisa are extremely proud of Liz and Jon and the careers and lives they have built.

After spending time away from the area, Chris and Lisa have returned home to Lenoir and to the community where their journey in funeral service together began. Chris has also returned to Evans Funeral Service, where he serves families as a Professional PreNeed Counselor, helping individuals and families thoughtfully plan ahead and make important decisions with confidence and peace of mind.

In addition to his work in funeral service, Chris serves as Executive Director of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association (NCFDA), working on behalf of funeral professionals across North Carolina through education, advocacy, membership development, and advancement of the funeral service profession.

Chris and Lisa are proud of the legacy they began together at Evans Funeral Service & Crematory and are grateful for the opportunity to once again call Lenoir home.

For Chris, returning to Evans Funeral Service is more than returning to a profession. It is a return to the families, friendships, community, and funeral home that have meant so much to Chris and Lisa for more than two decades—and an opportunity to continue the tradition of service they began together many years ago.

Douglas Story

Crematory Technician

Born and raised in Caldwell County, Douglas is married to Susan German Story. He is a graduate of Hudson High School and worked for many years in the furniture industry. After working for several years with us as a Funeral Assistant, he received his certification as a crematory operator. He is now full-time with Evans Funeral Service & Crematory and is our main Crematory Operator. Douglas is an active member of First Baptist Church of Hudson.
